4" EXHAUST SYSTEM - INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND PHOTOS
(Typical for both Dodge and Ford)

REMOVAL OF OLD SYSTEM:

  1. Check contents of box, then lay out system per diagram.

  2. Remove clamp from downpipe at exhaust side of turbo.

  3. From under the cab of the vehicle, located close to transmission crossmember, cut exhaust pipe 18" foward of flanged connection. Remove downpipe.

  4. At rear of vehicle, cut tailpipe behind muffler in front of differential.

  5. Remove complete exhaust system.

INSTALLATION OF NEW SYSTEM:

IMPORTANT NOTE: During "loose fit-up" hangers must be adjusted to hang straight down (not pulled at an angle) to assure clearances and proper installation.

  1. From underneath vehicle, install downpipe (#1) and clamp to turbo housing loosely. (Do not tighten clamp final step.)

  2. Install pipe (#2) upside down above crossmember, rotate 180 degrees, then install onto pipe (#1). Clamp loosely.

  3. Using rear hangers on muffler, hang rear of muffler. (Hanger towards tail of vehicle.)

  4. Install pipe (#3). Clamp loosely. Add hanger clamp, again clamp loosely.

  5. Temporarily install pipe (#4), swing muffler up into position (muffler will be level). Mark and cut pipe (#4) to proper length. Install pipe (#4).

  6. From behind right rear tire, install pipe (#6). Check for proper clearance between exhaust pipe, shock absorber and rear tire. Trim if necessary.

  7. Install pipe (#7), install rear hanger loosely. You may need to trim pipe (#7) to desired fit.

  8. Install remaining clamps and hangers. Tighten all clamps, beginning with the turbo-housing clamp. Work your way toward the rear of the vehicle. Pay close attentions to your clearances, so there are no rattles.

  9. Install chrome tip.
